What happened to NetNut?

NetNut's domains were seized by the FBI on 2 July 2026 (Krebs on Security). Since then, NetNut customers have needed a new source of residential IPs.

Some comparison pages have not caught up. As of 5 October 2026, Proxyway's UK proxy page still lists NetNut first, with a "currently unavailable" note. That page reports 956k UK IPs and a test result of 351,529 unique IPs at 98.27% success for NetNut. Those figures describe a service you can no longer buy.

What should you check before choosing a NetNut replacement?

Check five things before you move UK or EU traffic to a new provider:

  1. Coverage. The provider must deliver the UK and EU countries, cities and ISPs you used on NetNut.
  2. Targeting price. Some providers charge extra for city or ASN targeting, or gate it behind large plans.
  3. KYC and payment. Some providers now require identity checks before residential access.
  4. Traffic expiry. Monthly plans and credits can expire; non-expiring packs do not.
  5. Sourcing and abuse controls. Ask how IPs are sourced, and look for a published acceptable-use policy and abuse desk.

PontProxy publishes its sourcing standard, its Acceptable Use Policy and an abuse desk that reviews reports within 24 hours.

Which NetNut alternatives do review sites name?

Proxyway's NetNut-alternatives list names Oxylabs (175M IPs), Decodo (115M), Bright Data (72M), Zyte and DataImpulse, as re-checked on 5 October 2026. These are global pool figures, not UK figures.

None of those lists is UK- or EU-specific. If your NetNut traffic was mostly British or European, compare UK pools, EU city targeting and KYC rules, as in the table above. For a full UK ranking, see best UK residential proxies.

How do you migrate from NetNut to PontProxy?

Most NetNut integrations used a gateway host, a port and a username with targeting options. The same pattern works at PontProxy.

  1. List what you used

Write down the countries, cities, session types and monthly GB you used on NetNut. This sets the size of your first plan.

  2. Buy a test plan

Buy 1 GB for $0.95 (paid from a $25 minimum top-up; the rest stays on your balance — never expires, non-refundable) on the pricing page. Pay with Bitcoin (BTC), Tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Litecoin (LTC). No ID or company email is needed.

  3. Swap the gateway

Replace the NetNut host and port with gw.pontproxy.com and 7777 for HTTP, or 7778 for SOCKS5.

  4. Rewrite the username

Map your country, city and session options to USERNAME-country-{cc}-city-{city}-session-{id}-ttl-{minutes}. Sticky sessions last up to 60 minutes.

  5. Verify exits

Check that exit IPs belong to UK or EU consumer ISPs, such as BT (AS2856) or Sky (AS5607), with our ASN lookup guide.

  6. Move full traffic

Once success rates match your needs, buy a larger pack. 100 GB costs $41, and residential and rotating-mobile traffic never expires.
