Which Spanish networks do the residential IPs come from?

Spanish residential IPs come from four groups that run almost the whole market. In June 2026 they held 98.1% of Spain's 63.24 million mobile lines, per the CNMC. The same four groups are the main fixed broadband providers.

Fibre dominates Spanish home broadband. Spain had 19.93 million fixed broadband lines in June 2026, and 18.2 million were FTTH. PontProxy, a no-KYC UK & Europe residential and 4G/5G proxy provider, lets you pin each network by ASN.

Who charges extra for city targeting in Spain?

Several providers price city or ASN targeting separately, which matters for regional Spanish work. Status as of October 2026, per each provider's own pricing page. $0.75/GB at 5 GB is 25% below the lowest price we found among the main UK and EU proxy providers (DataImpulse, $1.00/GB, checked 2026-10-05).

How does city targeting work for Barcelona, Valencia or Seville?

City targeting picks exit IPs that IP geolocation databases place in your chosen city. These databases can disagree near city borders, so check a sample IP in two databases before a large run.

Language is a separate setting. Catalan and Valencian sites may choose the language from browser settings, not from the IP. For a Barcelona test in Catalan, set both the city and the Accept-Language header.

A Barcelona IP held for 10 minutes uses this username: USERNAME-country-es-city-barcelona-session-b4r5c6-ttl-10. Connect to gw.pontproxy.com on port 7777 (HTTP/HTTPS) or 7778 (SOCKS5). More examples are in the quickstart guide.

Which Spanish websites do teams check with a Spanish IP?

A Spanish IP shows the prices, offers and ads that a shopper in Spain sees. Typical legitimate jobs:

  • Price monitoring on Amazon.es, El Corte Inglés, PcComponentes and MediaMarkt.es;
  • Price-comparison research on Idealo.es;
  • Second-hand market research on public Wallapop listings;
  • SERP tracking on google.es, by city;
  • Geo-testing of regional offers and of Spanish, Catalan or Basque site versions — see geo-testing.

Public listings can still contain personal data. Collect only what your purpose needs.

How has consolidation changed Spain's networks?

Spain now has four large network groups, and the biggest is fully owned by Orange. Orange became the sole owner of MasOrange on 8 June 2026. MasOrange reported 7.1 million fixed broadband customers in Q1 2026.

Digi runs its own network and uses RAN sharing and national roaming with Movistar where it has no coverage. Telefónica and Digi extended that agreement in July 2024, for 16 years. Digi's own addresses sit in AS57269.

Residential or 4G/5G mobile proxies in Spain?

Residential IPs are the cheaper choice for crawling and SERP checks, billed per GB. A dedicated mobile port suits app testing and mobile ad checks on one named operator.

A Spanish dedicated port costs $59.25 for 30 days, or $4.50 for 1 day. Traffic is unlimited, and carrier choice is included. See Spanish 4G/5G mobile proxies.

Using a proxy is legal in Spain; the rules cover what you collect. Personal data falls under the GDPR and the LOPDGDD (Organic Law 3/2018), supervised by the AEPD. Catalonia, the Basque Country and Andalusia also have regional authorities. Article 197 bis of the Criminal Code covers unauthorised access to computer systems.

PontProxy blocks online banking, government portals, payment processors and outgoing email (SMTP ports 25, 465 and 587). Every account follows our Acceptable Use Policy. See are proxies legal in the UK and EU?.

Can I test Catalan versions of Spanish websites?
