A local IP shows the store, currency and delivery options that a shopper in that country sees. Many retailers run one store per country and choose what to show by visitor location. A crawler abroad can get the wrong store or a redirect.
Online retail is worth watching closely. Internet sales were 27.3% of UK retail sales in August 2026, and averaged 27.5% across 2025 (ONS series J4MC).
Country stores also change. Amazon opened Amazon.ie on 18 March 2025 with euro pricing. Austria has no Amazon store of its own, so teams check what Amazon.de shows to Austrian visitors.
Set the country parameter to the retailer's market. Retailers come from our country data, checked on 5 October 2026.

Use rotating IPs for catalogue crawls and sticky sessions for multi-step pages. Rotation spreads a large product list across many households. A sticky session keeps one IP for up to 60 minutes.

Group product URLs by market
Put Amazon.co.uk and Argos under gb, Amazon.de and Otto under de, and Bol under nl.

Pick a plan on the pricing page and pay in crypto. Start with 1 GB to test your parser.
Build one username per market
The format is USERNAME-country-{cc}-city-{city}-session-{id}-ttl-{minutes}. For a rotating UK crawl, USERNAME-country-gb is enough.
Read robots.txt and set a crawl rate
Respect each store's rules and crawl-delay. Start slowly, with a pause of a few seconds between requests per store.
Store price, currency and exit country
Save each price with its currency, URL, exit country and a UTC timestamp. Check the exit IP once per run at https://ipinfo.io/json.

Plan for failures. AIMultiple tested UK targets, including Amazon UK and Argos, and measured target-level success of only about 57–81%.

Rotating residential proxies suit most UK and EU price monitoring. In the UK they come from home broadband lines on BT, Sky, Virgin Media and TalkTalk, so stores see normal visitors. PontProxy residential traffic starts at $0.36/GB. Use a dedicated 4G/5G port only for app prices.
Run one queue per store, each with its own country code. Send Amazon.co.uk requests with USERNAME-country-gb and Amazon.de requests with USERNAME-country-de. Both use the same gateway and the same traffic balance. Record the exit country with each price. Store GBP and EUR prices in their original currency, and convert later.
Usually not, because most online prices are set per country. City targeting helps when a retailer shows store stock or delivery charges by area. PontProxy includes country, city and ISP/ASN targeting included at no extra cost, so a city such as glasgow or munich costs nothing extra.
It depends on page weight and frequency, which vary widely between stores. Start with 1 GB for $0.95 (paid from a $25 minimum top-up; the rest stays on your balance — never expires, non-refundable), measure your average page size, then multiply by pages per day. Because residential and rotating-mobile traffic never expires, a larger plan is never wasted.
Collecting public prices is generally lawful, but it depends on the site, the data and the country. Respect robots.txt and site terms, and avoid personal data. This is general information, not legal advice. See our guide to proxy legality in the UK and EU.
Yes. PontProxy asks for no KYC — no ID, no selfie, no documents. You log in with an account number, and email is optional. Payment is crypto only: Bitcoin (BTC), Tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), Litecoin (LTC). Delivery is instant — credentials appear as soon as your top-up confirms and you buy a plan.
Slow down first, because errors usually mean your rate is too high for that store. Lower concurrency and add back-off. If a store still refuses automated access, respect that and use an official feed instead. The quickstart guide lists common connection errors.
