Vodafone UK is now one half of VodafoneThree, the UK's largest mobile group by customers. Vodafone UK and Three UK merged on 31 May 2025. Which? described the result as the biggest UK network, with around 27 million customers and an £11bn investment pledge over 10 years.
Ownership has since changed again. In May 2026 Vodafone agreed to buy CK Hutchison's 49% stake for £4.3bn. Vodafone's newsroom reported full ownership on 30 July 2026.
On the radio side, Vodafone was the first UK operator to make 5G Standalone available, in 2023, according to Full Fact. Wikipedia lists Vodafone UK 5G on 900, 2100 and 3500 MHz, and 4G (LTE) on 800 to 2600 MHz.
Vodafone UK ranges are announced by AS25135, registered as vodafone_uk_asn (Vodafone Limited). PeeringDB names it "Vodafone UK Packet Backbone". Vodafone Limited also holds AS5378, whose role we could not verify.
Be careful with one detail. RIPE registers the 212.183.128.0/20 block as VODAFONE-CORE-NETWORK-DEVELOPMENT and does not label it as mobile. So check the ASN and the prefix together. Our ASN lookup guide shows how.
| ASN | Holder / name | Example ranges | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| AS25135 | Vodafone Limited (vodafone_uk_asn) | 212.183.128.0/20, 148.252.128.0/19 | Vodafone UK Packet Backbone (PeeringDB) |
| AS5378 | Vodafone Limited | — | Role unverified |
They are the same company, but they still run as separate networks with separate ASNs. Vodafone announces AS25135. Three announces AS206067 and AS60339 (RIPEstat, October 2026).
For proxy work, this matters. A Vodafone port and a Three port show different ASNs, so sites can tell them apart. At PontProxy you pick Vodafone or Three as separate networks.
VOXI, Talkmobile, Lebara and Asda Mobile run on Vodafone in the UK, according to Wikipedia's list of UK MVNOs (September 2026). VOXI and Talkmobile are Vodafone's own brands. Lebara and Asda Mobile rent Vodafone capacity.
Customers of these brands get IPs from Vodafone's ranges. A Vodafone port therefore shows you the carrier context those customers see.
Choose Vodafone when your users, ads or test cases are on Vodafone or one of its MVNOs. Useful for checking how apps, mobile checkouts and ads behave for Vodafone UK customers. It also helps geo-test UK content from a Vodafone UK carrier address rather than a datacentre IP.
