Which cities can I target in Malta?

You can target Malta as a whole or one city at a time. The main locations are St. Paul's Bay, Birkirkara, Mosta, Sliema, Qormi, Żabbar, Marsaskala, Valletta, Victoria (Gozo). Country and city targeting are included in every plan at no extra cost.

To pick a city, add it to your proxy username in lower case, without spaces: country-mt selects Malta, then -city- plus the city name narrows the exit IP to that city.

Which ISPs do Malta residential IPs come from?

Residential IPs are addresses that home broadband providers assign to their subscribers. In Malta the main fixed-line ISPs are GO, Melita, Epic.

GO, Melita and Epic all sell fixed internet. In Q1 2026 fibre made up half of all fixed internet subscriptions, and 28.4% were Gigabit plans (MCA).

You can pin an ISP or ASN with ISP targeting, included in every PontProxy plan.

What are Malta residential proxies used for?

Maltese IPs show local google.com.mt results in English and Maltese, and how retailers such as Amazon handle Maltese delivery and pricing. They also support app and content QA for Malta-based digital businesses.

Typical legitimate jobs with a Malta IP:

  • checking local search results on google.com.mt;
  • monitoring prices and stock on MaltaPark, Amazon.de, Amazon.co.uk, eBay.co.uk;
  • verifying that ads and affiliate links display correctly to visitors in Malta;
  • testing websites and apps from a real Malta connection.

See our guides to price monitoring, SERP tracking and geo-testing.

Residential or mobile proxies in Malta?

Residential IPs suit most scraping, SERP and price work and are billed per GB. Mobile IPs come from SIM cards on Epic, GO, Melita and suit app testing and mobile ad checks.

Malta has three mobile networks: Epic, GO and Melita. Mobile subscriptions reached 827,776 in Q1 2026, a penetration rate of 140% (MCA). In September 2026 Melita agreed to buy Epic, subject to competition approval.

PontProxy blocks online banking, government portals, payment processors and outgoing email (SMTP ports 25, 465 and 587). Every account is bound by our Acceptable Use Policy. Read more in are proxies legal in the UK and EU?.

How do I connect to a Malta residential IP?

Use host gw.pontproxy.com on port 7777 for HTTP/HTTPS or 7778 for SOCKS5. Build the username like this: USERNAME-country-mt-session-a1b2c3-ttl-30.

  • Drop the session part to get a new IP on every request.
  • Keep the same session value to hold one IP for up to the ttl in minutes.

Malta residential proxies: FAQ

Who runs Malta's mobile networks?

Malta has three mobile network operators. Epic, formerly Vodafone Malta, is owned by Monaco Telecom. GO is about 65% owned by Tunisie Telecom. Melita also runs a cable network. In September 2026 Melita agreed to buy Epic, and the deal needs competition approval. Their main ASNs are AS33874 (Epic), AS15735 (GO) and AS12709 (Melita).

Which towns can be targeted in Malta?

Malta is a small country with 68 local councils, so city-level targeting is coarse. The most populous localities in the 2021 census were St. Paul's Bay, Birkirkara, Mosta, Sliema and Qormi. Valletta is the capital but has far fewer residents. Gozo has its own localities, with Victoria as the main town. Check sample IPs in a geolocation database before relying on town labels.

How much do Malta residential proxies cost?

Malta residential proxies cost from $0.36/GB at PontProxy. The 1 GB plan costs $0.95 (paid from a $25 minimum top-up; the rest stays on your balance — never expires, non-refundable) and 10 GB costs $5.90. The price is the same in every European country and includes city and ISP targeting. Unused traffic never expires, so you only pay for what you use.

Do I need to verify my identity to buy Malta proxies?

No. PontProxy asks for no ID, no selfie and no documents. You sign in with an account number and an email is optional. This follows the GDPR principle of data minimisation: we only keep what we need to run the service. Use is governed by our Acceptable Use Policy.

Which cryptocurrencies can I use to pay?

You can pay in Bitcoin, USDT (TRC-20 or ERC-20), USDC, Ethereum, Litecoin or Solana. USDT on TRC-20, Solana and Litecoin keep network fees low for small plans. Credentials appear in your client area as soon as the payment confirms.

Can I keep the same Malta IP for a whole session?

Yes. Add a session ID to your username and the gateway keeps the same Malta exit IP up to 60 minutes. Without a session ID you get a new IP on every request, which suits large crawls. Both modes work over HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5.
