Which cities can I target in Portugal?

You can target Portugal as a whole or one city at a time. The main locations are Lisbon, Porto, Vila Nova de Gaia, Braga, Amadora, Coimbra, Setúbal, Funchal, Aveiro, Faro. Country and city targeting are included in every plan at no extra cost.

To pick a city, add it to your proxy username in lower case, without spaces: country-pt selects Portugal, then -city- plus the city name narrows the exit IP to that city.

Which ISPs do Portugal residential IPs come from?

Residential IPs are addresses that home broadband providers assign to their subscribers. In Portugal the main fixed-line ISPs are MEO, NOS, Vodafone, DIGI (incl. NOWO).

Portugal had 4.8 million fixed broadband accesses at the end of 2025, and fibre carried 72.2% of them (ANACOM). MEO led with 40.9%, ahead of NOS (33.3%) and Vodafone (21.7%).

You can pin an ISP or ASN with ISP targeting, included in every PontProxy plan.

What are Portugal residential proxies used for?

Portuguese IPs show local google.pt results, euro prices on Worten, Fnac.pt and KuantoKusta, and European Portuguese site versions. This matters for QA when the same site also serves Brazilian Portuguese.

Typical legitimate jobs with a Portugal IP:

  • checking local search results on google.pt;
  • monitoring prices and stock on Worten, OLX.pt, KuantoKusta, Fnac.pt;
  • verifying that ads and affiliate links display correctly to visitors in Portugal;
  • testing websites and apps from a real Portugal connection.

Residential or mobile proxies in Portugal?

Residential IPs suit most scraping, SERP and price work and are billed per GB. Mobile IPs come from SIM cards on MEO, NOS, Vodafone, DIGI and suit app testing and mobile ad checks.

Portugal has four mobile networks. At the end of 2025, MEO held 36.0% of mobile accesses in use (excluding M2M), NOS 31.1%, Vodafone 27.6% and DIGI/NOWO 3.3% (ANACOM).

PontProxy blocks online banking, government portals, payment processors and outgoing email (SMTP ports 25, 465 and 587). Every account is bound by our Acceptable Use Policy. Read more in are proxies legal in the UK and EU?.

How do I connect to a Portugal residential IP?

  • Keep the same session value to hold one IP for up to the ttl in minutes.

Portugal residential proxies: FAQ

How big is DIGI in Portugal's mobile market?

DIGI launched commercially in Portugal in late 2024 and now reports together with NOWO, which it acquired. ANACOM data for the fourth quarter of 2025 gives the DIGI/NOWO group 3.3% of active mobile accesses. MEO (36.0%), NOS (31.1%) and Vodafone (27.6%) still serve most users. The three incumbents answered DIGI with low-cost brands: UZO, WOO and Amigo.

How common is 5G in Portugal?

ANACOM reports that 42.3% of mobile accesses used the 5G network at the end of 2025, up 11.1 percentage points in one year. Another 42.3% used 4G, and 15.4% still used 2G or 3G. Mobile proxies on these networks use the operators' own address ranges, for example AS42863, which MEO registers for its mobile network.

How much do Portugal residential proxies cost?

Portugal residential proxies cost from $0.36/GB at PontProxy. The 1 GB plan costs $0.95 (paid from a $25 minimum top-up; the rest stays on your balance — never expires, non-refundable) and 10 GB costs $5.90. The price is the same in every European country and includes city and ISP targeting. Unused traffic never expires, so you only pay for what you use.

Do I need to verify my identity to buy Portugal proxies?

No. PontProxy asks for no ID, no selfie and no documents. You sign in with an account number and an email is optional. This follows the GDPR principle of data minimisation: we only keep what we need to run the service. Use is governed by our Acceptable Use Policy.

Which cryptocurrencies can I use to pay?

You can pay in Bitcoin, USDT (TRC-20 or ERC-20), USDC, Ethereum, Litecoin or Solana. USDT on TRC-20, Solana and Litecoin keep network fees low for small plans. Credentials appear in your client area as soon as the payment confirms.

Can I keep the same Portugal IP for a whole session?

Yes. Add a session ID to your username and the gateway keeps the same Portugal exit IP up to 60 minutes. Without a session ID you get a new IP on every request, which suits large crawls. Both modes work over HTTP, HTTPS and SOCKS5.
